One of the most popular social networks to manage Twitter from mobile device users of iOS is undoubtedly Tweetbot, thanks to having spectacular functions accompanied by a wonderful interface on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The idea of a desktop version has really excited us, especially those who tried the beta version of this. And, finally, Tapbot has released the final version of Tweetbot for Mac.
The 4.5 MB-application supports the Notification Center in Mountain Lion, offers the possibility of multiple timelines, can filter messages, block users, as well as words, and is also Retina-display optimized.
The application has the following features:
- Possibility to have multiple accounts on the same application and exchange of accounts
- Ability to have multiple columns of different accounts
- Support for notification center
- Compatible with retina-display screens
- Possibility to synchronize the position of the application on different devices
- Support services such as Pocket, Instapaper, Redability, CloudApp and Droplr
- Ability to save drafts, plus send photos and videos to your tweets.
- Support for list management
- Enable/Disable Retweets from Users
Moreover, Tweetbot for Mac is perhaps the best Twitter client that exists today for Mac because of its stability and functions that make it much better than even the official Twitter app.
However, Tweetbot for Mac is priced at higher than $19.99 USD that the developers said is necessary to accommodate Twitter’s token limits on third-party developers.
“Why the seemingly high price for a Twitter client application?” The Tapbot team said. “Because of Twitter’s recent enforcement of token limits, we only have a limited number of tokens available for Tweetbot for Mac. These tokens dictate how many users Tweetbot for Mac can have. The app’s limit is separate from, but much smaller than, the limit for Tweetbot for iOS. Once we use up the tokens granted to us by Twitter, we will no longer be able to sell the app to new users. Tapbots will continue to support Tweetbot for Mac for existing customers at that time.”
